Bank It was Founded in 2011 by Leadership Northwest Oklahoma Class II. The class was formed as a part of the Alva Alive program under the direction of Dr. John Barton. Following a vision started by Magen Lehr and Todd Holder in 2009 to help the needy during the holiday season, the group took on the Bank It project and expanded its endeavors to reach more members of the community. For more information on Leadership NW Oklahoma, please visit http://www.nwokc.com/about/leadership-northwest/.

Bank It is a 501(C)3 charitable organization formed to bring citizens together in support of the Northwest Oklahoma CommUNITY and to help people and projects in need. Through quarterly CommUNITY Visions, approved formal requests, and the Rainy Day Fund for Families in Crisis Bank It collects and distributes funds and items, providing aid to organizations and individuals in need.

The support of Bank It comes primarily from donations of citizens within Woods County. A large portion of those funds have been matched by participating banks.
